CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE
In the new millennium, great changes are envisaged the world
over in the field of education to meet the forthcoming challenges
in the ever expanding and fast developing Professional Fields.
A larger autonomy is required for the educational institutes
involved in higher education to redesign academic programs
to include innovation, creative design and research components,
which are the needs of the hour. We are proud to state that
the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of
India and University Grants Commission have declared Dr. M.G.R.
Educational and Research Institute as a Deemed University
from this academic year, 2003-2004, to design and introduce
professionally valuable and socially relevant educational
and research programs in Engineering, Technology, Medicine,
Dentistry, Humanities and Sciences. Our university will focus
on turning out many job creators and wealth generators from
our students through our nation and to compete globally. We
will strive to become a center of excellence. Now we dedicate
ourselves to meet the vision of India as one among the well
developed nations.
